Choosing an Electronic Cigarette
Electronic cigarettes come in a variety of shapes, styles and colours and manufactured by a number of different companies. But not all of them are built to the same standard with a lot of Chinese imports being of an inferior quality.
The first electronic cigarette I purchased was a cheap model off of a market stall, and it very nearly put me off the whole idea of electronic cigarettes, as the batteries seemed to need charging way to often, it tasted awful and would leak the nicotine solution onto my hands or into my mouth.
Rather than give up on the electronic cigarette I decided to do a little investigation into them and then purchased a second one from a well known brand. Whilst this was a marked improvement it would still occasionally leak nicotine fluid.
At this point I decided I would try 2 other brands that I had seen online, before assigning them to failed anti smoking products drawer. These 2 brands were NICOCIG and TECC, and I’m pleased to say that both of the electronic cigarettes I purchased from these companies worked perfectly. The batteries had a decent lifespan between charges, the tasted great and neither leaked nicotine fluid.
The electronic cigarettes that I chose all looked like regular factory made cigarettes, which brings up another point that is worth considering before making a purchase, and that is where do you plan to use the electronic cigarette?
If you work in an office and want to use the electronic cigarette indoors than purchasing one that looks like a real tobacco cigarette may not be the best idea, as it’s likely to lead to confusion and frequent requests for you to put out the cigarette. For regular indoor use I’d pick something that doesn’t look to realistic.
TECC have a large range of this type of electronic cigarette such as their Titan and Tornado ranges, these can be purchased in colours such as, black, platinum, gold, pink or red reducing the chances of them being mistaken for a real cigarette. You may find that people will be curious as to what it is though, so be prepared for a few questions.
My trade of gardener however, has me working outside most of the time, so I wanted something that looked like a real cigarette and wouldn’t look out of place. It also meant that I wouldn’t feel out of place joining my friends outside a pub for a cigarette.
Then there is one final question that you need to ask yourself, and that is why are you purchasing an electronic cigarette. Do you want to give up smoking 100%, you want to reduce the health risks of smoking or are you buying it for a friend or family member?
The reason for this question is that some brands of electronic cigarette also produce nicotine cartridges in flavours other than nicotine, such as menthol, cherry, apple, coffee and vanilla to name a few.
If you plan to use the electronic cigarette to give up smoking completely, then whether or not you can buy different flavoured nicotine cartridges isn’t much of an issue. If you are buying it for a friend or family member that refuses to quit, then purchasing one that can use different flavours may be the way to get them to switch from tobacco based products, to something that is smoke and tar free.

Got my first e-cig the other day and starting to really enjoy it, bought a D-1 model from http://www.jacvapour.com/ and although its a bit heavy at first you do get used to it,loking forward to saving a bit of money too.
